Milwaukee Power Tools & Accessories

Yes, Hansler Smith is a fully authorized Canadian distributor of genuine Milwaukee power tools, hand tools, and accessories. Buying through an authorized dealer ensures your purchase is backed by the official Milwaukee factory warranty and protects your business from counterfeit products.

No, M18 (18-volt) and M12 (12-volt) batteries operate on completely different platforms and are not interchangeable. An M18 battery will only fit M18 tools, and an M12 battery will only fit M12 tools. However, Milwaukee offers combination chargers (like the M18 & M12 Rapid Charger, 48-59-1807) that allow you to charge both battery types on a single unit to save space on the job site.

The Milwaukee FUEL™ lineup represents their premier heavy-duty performance tier. While standard Milwaukee tools are excellent for everyday professional use, FUEL™ tools feature three distinct proprietary innovations: a POWERSTATE™ brushless motor, REDLINK PLUS™ intelligence hardware to prevent overloading, and REDLITHIUM™ battery packs for maximum run-time. Choose FUEL™ for high-demand, high-torque industrial applications.

Milwaukee ONE-KEY™ is a digital inventory and tool tracking platform integrated into select Milwaukee tools. It allows fleet managers and tool crib supervisors to track tool locations via Bluetooth, customize performance settings for specific applications, and lock out missing tools remotely to prevent theft. You can manage your entire digital inventory across multiple job sites through a single free app.

Milwaukee M12 tools are compact 12V tools designed for portability, tight spaces, and lighter-duty professional applications. Milwaukee M18 tools are 18V tools built for heavier-duty drilling, fastening, cutting, grinding, and jobsite use. Milwaukee MX FUEL equipment is designed for high-demand applications that traditionally required gas-powered or corded equipment.

Deciding between a tool-only option (often called a "bare tool") and a full kit comes down to your current tool inventory and battery capacity. Here is how to maximize your budget:

• Choose Tool-Only (Bare Tools) if: You already have a robust inventory of Milwaukee M12™ or M18™ batteries and chargers on your job site. Because Milwaukee designs its cordless platforms to be completely backward and forward-compatible within their respective voltage lines, a new M18 tool will run perfectly on your existing M18 batteries.
• Choose a Full Kit if: You are expanding into a new battery platform (such as moving from M12 to M18, or stepping up to heavy-duty MX FUEL™ equipment), or if your crew is running short on power packs. Bundling tools into a kit is mathematically the most cost-effective way to acquire high-capacity REDLITHIUM™ batteries.
